Over 800 requests to attend Diaspora Congress
Over 800 requests to participate in Diaspora Congress, which will take place on August 15 at the Palace of the Republic in Chișinău, have been registered so far, State Secretary Ana Calinici said at Radio Moldova show.
“It's a very good number because we also have local guests, mayors, associations active in the diaspora area, who will bring the local and national perspective to the attention of the diaspora. Registration for the event will remain open until August 14 inclusively. Everyone interested, including native associations, returnees, and those interested in diaspora publications are invited. This event is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and exchange contacts,” said Ana Calinici.
The Diaspora Congress, now in its 11th edition, will discuss topics such as European integration, civic activism and the fight against disinformation, youth in the diaspora – tomorrow's leaders, diaspora's involvement in local development, and the role of Moldovans in the diaspora as cultural ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova worldwide.
The event is organized by the Diaspora Relations Office, with support from GIZ Moldova, UNDP Moldova, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
