In August 2024, Toper was placed on an international wanted list through INTERPOL and was arrested by British authorities on October 15 for extradition.

Subsequently, he is to be presented to prosecutors for appropriate procedural documentation.

On July 10, 2024, Eren Izzet, about 41 years old, was shot dead seven times, in the head and back, when he was at a terrace in the Rascani district of Chisinau. The attacker was on an electric scooter, wore camouflage clothing, helmet, and mask, and fled immediately after committing the act.

The investigation revealed that, during July 6, 2023- July 3, 2024, more reconnaissance visits were made to Moldova by individuals involved in the plot. Apartments were rented for monitoring the victim, cameras set, weapons, scooters, and vehicles purchased and the attack route was planned.

The victim was wanted by British authorities for leading a criminal organization, drug trafficking and other serious offenses. Moldovan authorities described the act as a "contract" assassination, well-prepared in advance.
