Work of Moldovan-Ukrainian customs checkpoints temporarily suspended over technical problems
The Customs Service of Moldova has announced that, at this time, the Moldovan-Ukrainian customs posts with joint control have temporarily ceased operations, and movement is limited at other crossing points. According to the institution, the Ukrainian side cannot accept vehicles for control, because of technical malfunctions in the information systems of the Ukrainian control authorities.
Representatives of the Customs Service said that they were in ongoing dialogue with relevant institutions of the neighboring state, which informed that they were taking measures to remedy the situation as soon as possible.
Moldovan authorities have announced that measures were being applied to manage the flow of travelers, aiming to reduce discomfort at the border and called for understanding and patience on behalf of those planning to cross the border.
The Customs Service will provide updated information as soon as changes regarding the resumption of traffic occur.
