
Weightlifter brings three more medals for Moldova at European Championship
Moldova has added three more medals to its record at the European Weightlifting Championship for seniors, which presently takes place in the capital. The three medals were won by Marin Robu at the weight category up to 89 kg.
The sportsman ranked first in the snatch event with a result of 173 kg, which brought him the gold medal.
In the clean and jerk event, Marin Robu registered a result of 202 kilograms and placed second. With a total result of 375 kilograms, the Moldovan weightlifter also finished second, winning his second silver medal.
With these three medals, the country’s weightlifting team has now won a total of seven distinctions at the European Weightlifting Championships, a competition financially backed by the Education and Research Ministry.
