Moldova might assemble electric buses starting from 2022
Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Economics Minister Sergiu Gaibu today paid a working visit to the Informbusiness Technical and Scientific Company, which is founding member of the Association of Companies from the Electronic Industry of Moldova (ACEM). Inter alia, the sides considered possibility of assembling electric buses in Moldova starting from this year.
At the meeting, ACEM head Vitalie Esanu presented the Association’s activities, perspectives of development of the electronic industry, as well as the main challenges faced by the ACEM members.
The minister also visited the production rooms, laboratories of testing equipment designed and produced by the Informbusiness Technical and Scientific Company and attended the testing, in real regime, of a power electronic installation. The minister appreciated the innovation and ambitious plans of the native producer.
For 2022-2023, the Association proposed the implementation of an investment project on assembling electric buses in Moldova. The equipment will be exported including to the European Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Also, in 2023, the company plans to start the series production of electronic equipment, which will allow autonomy for electric buses electric buses of up to 300-400 km, as well as the increase in the electric buses’ speed up to 120 km/hour. The testing of this equipment is underway at the Informbusiness Technical and Scientific Company. During March-April 2022, the equipment presented is to be delivered to the MAZ plant from Belarus, where the first electric bus with autonomous movement of 300-400 km will be assembled.
