Duty-free regime to be cancelled in Moldova
Chisinau, 26 October /MOLDPRES/ - A legislative initiative which provides for the cancellation of the duty-free regime in Moldova was approved by the cabinet today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document sees amendments to the Customs Code and Fiscal Code, in order to promote the principle of fiscal equity through the imposing of taxes on goods sold in Moldova, including at the trade units placed in the customs zones.
Under the draft, the duty-free regime will be cancelled all over Moldova and the duty-free shops will work till the expiration of the current licence. Respectively, the shop placed at the headquarters of the Chisinau International Airport will work till 22 December 2022 and the commercial units from the zones of exit of the state border – till 3 September 2023.
