Moldova, Belgium to boost bilateral political, economic, sectoral dialogue
Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- Bilateral cooperation through boosting political dialogue, strengthening contacts at the economic, investment and sectoral levels, as well as issues of the European integration agenda of Moldova were discussed on Wednesday at a meeting between Foreign Minister and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea and his Belgian counterpart Philippe Goffin.
According to the MAEIE’s press service, the officials appreciated the close cooperation, based on 33 bilateral agreements and the consecutive implementation of a number of concrete projects, which support the modernization efforts of Moldova and contribute to the European integration. In order to set short- and medium-term goals, the foreign ministers agreed to hold a new round of inter-ministerial political consultations in the near future.
Tulea expressed the wish to boost and diversify Moldovan-Belgian relations both bilaterally and multilaterally. A practical step in this regard is to use the potential of economic diplomacy: by encouraging the growth of trade and mutual investment.
In terms of European integration, Tulea highlighted the continuous implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement and the use of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement. At bilateral level, the Moldovan authorities rely on exchange of experience in areas such as public administration, internal affairs and justice.
