Moldovan parliament speaker, Albania's president discuss European integration goal
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with the President of Albania Bajram Begaj, on an official visit to Moldova. The discussions focused on the shared strategic objective of Moldova and Albania – integration into the European Union.
“Moldova and Albania share the same strategic objective: to become member states of the European Union. It is a path that requires work and perseverance, but it is also a path that gives us hope, strengthens our institutions and brings us closer to a safer future,” reiterated the speaker.
The two officials also addressed bilateral cooperation and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized the importance of continuing reforms and consolidating the rule of law. “The European Union will be stronger alongside states that share its values and choose democracy, freedom and respect for people. Moldova and Albania move forward with the same conviction: Europe is our home,” concluded Igor Grosu.
President of Albania Bajram Begaj is paying an official visit to Moldova on January 18-20, at an invitation of President Maia Sandu.
