DOC // Eight MPs of Action and Solidarity Party submit resignation applications; most lawmakers to become ministers in new government of Moldova
Eight MPs pf the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) have submitted resignation applications. The draft resolutions were approved by parliament on October 31.
Five of those who submitted resignation applications will work at the new government. Thus, Vladimir Bolea is moving to the position of Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development; Ludmila Catlabuga - to the position of Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry; Mihai Popsoi will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Emil Ceban will act as the Minister of Health; Dan Perciun - as the Minister of Education and Research.
Two other lawmakers who resigned have announced they were suspending their political activity. It is about Dorin Recean and Artur Mija.
At the same time, Nicu Popescu submitted a resignation request after President Maia Sandu had appointed him as a special envoy for European affairs and strategic partnerships.
According to the parliament’s decision, the resignation applications will be acknowledged as of November 1, 2025. In accordance with the Law on the Status of MPs, the vacant mandates will be assigned to the next substitutes on the electoral list of the Action and Solidarity Party. These are Igor Talmazan, Angela Munteanu-Pojoga, Veronica Cupcea, Veronica Briceag, Liliana Grosu, Alexandr Trubca, Gheorghe Ichim and Valeriu Cartin.
The draft resolutions come into force on the date of adoption.
