
Moldovan electoral body requests return of 7,940.17 thousand lei to government reserve fund
Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) is requesting the reimbursement, by re-establishment, of the amount of 7,940.17 thousand lei saved in organizing and conducting the snap parliamentary elections on July 11 in the Government reserve fund.
In a press release, the central electoral authority announced that after the completion of all actions aimed at organizing and conducting the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021, savings in the amount of 7,940.17 thousand lei were formed. The amount, according to the CEC, can be used by the Government to respond promptly to certain financing needs in unpredictable and exceptional situations.
Thus, according to the CEC "the electoral authority saved the amount of 4 833.4 thousand lei for the remuneration of Commission officials and persons contracted during the election period, for the purchase of electoral materials and documents, including ballots, whose purchase price was much lower, for the services of receiving and serving official delegations, for transport services and in the case of other types of expenditure which have been waived or significant savings have been possible. "
Also in this context, the Center for Continuing Education in the Electoral Field saved the amount of 677.4 thousand lei planned for the remuneration of trainers, the purchase of training materials, in the context in which the trainings took place online.
At the same time, the electoral councils saved the amount of 2,429.37 thousand lei for the indemnity of the electoral officials actually employed in the electoral bureaus, for the purchase of fuel and the payment of travel expenses, due to the fact that the number of effective trips was reduced, as well as for the purchase of other materials.
For the organization and conduct of the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021, the Central Electoral Commission was allocated financial means in the amount of 92,468.0 thousand lei, and effectively 84 527.83 thousand lei were capitalized.
