Speaker: Cimișlia roads modernized after decades of waiting

Speaker Igor Grosu visited Cimișlia district where he inspected the construction site of G127 road, which connects the villages of Valea Perjei – Maximeni – Javgur, and held meetings with local administration and citizens.

He announced that the works are to be completed in at most two months.

“This is the first major renovation of this road segment in over 30 years. In Cimișlia district, another important investment was the modernization of M3 Porumbreni-Cimișlia road, and in the near future, the construction of a bypass for the city of Cimișlia is planned,” Grosu said.

The official noted that in the last two years, through the European Village program, over 40 million lei have been allocated for the modernization of over 15 localities in Cimișlia.

“The investments targeted the rehabilitation of schools, kindergartens, cultural houses, the construction of water supply systems, street lighting, and the equipping of medical units. For 2025, another 50 million lei will be invested in continuing these projects,” Grosu added.

Alongside infrastructure modernization, a large-scale afforestation campaign will begin in the district as of 15 March. In Cimișlia, seedlings will be planted on an area of 30 hectares, and the mayors in the district have been invited to join the initiative.

During the visit to the south of the country, the official met with residents of the village of Topala.

“I found a united community, involved and eager to access new projects to further improve their living conditions. The locality is supplied with water and connected to the natural gas network, has been fully illuminated, and now they plan to renovate a 3 km road segment that would shorten the distance to Cimișlia, as well as the renovation of a building housing multiple social institutions. I am delighted to see that our villages are coming to life and becoming attractive to investors and for diaspora families returning home, Topala village is an example that Moldova can,” Grosu concluded.

Cimișlia district has 39 localities: one city, 22 communes, and 16 villages. According to the latest census, the population is 49,299 inhabitants.
