US available to initiate new projects of bilateral military cooperation with Moldova
Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ – The USA will continue to support reforms in defence and are available to initiate new projects of bilateral cooperation with the National Army of Moldova. The statement was made by the US military attache in Moldova, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Alan Muir, during a meeting with Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, Chief of Staff, National Army Commander.
According to the Defence Ministry’s press release, officials discussed bilateral cooperation relations in the military segment, focusing on significant assistance given to Moldova by the US Government, particularly in the area of training, logistics and medicine.
General Cutie noted considerable input from fellow Americans training renovating military bases from Bulboaca Program under the Global Initiative for peacekeeping operations (GPOI) and in various social projects. The National Army Commander thanked the US for opportunities of participation of Moldovan soldiers in international exercises conducted both within the country and abroad, in Ukraine, Germany, Romania and the USA.
