Moldovan judoka qualifies for semifinals of Paris Olympic Games
Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - Judoka Denis Vieru (66 kg) has qualified for the semifinals of the Paris Olympic Games. The Moldovan sportsman defeated a Finnish judoka, Luukas Saha, and Serbian Stranhija Buncic.
Denis Vieru started with a victory at the Olympic Games, after he had defeated Finnish Luukas Saha.
In the quarterfinals, Denis wrestled with Serbian Stranhija Buncic. The wrestle lasted 41 seconds and Denis put his adversary on the mattress through the Ippon procedure.
In the semifinals, held today at 17:00, Moldova’s time, Denis Vieru meets Olympic champion, Japanese judoka Hifumi Abe.
