
Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Italian counterpart
Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Italy has reaffirmed its commitment for a constructive partnership with Moldova and the willingness to provide expertize for the country’s European integration way. Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Antonio Tajani gave assurances to this effect at a meeting with Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi in Brussels today.
The discussions were focused on the Moldovan-Italian bilateral relations, boosting of the cooperation in more fields, as well as Moldova’s European integration path.
At the meeting, Mihai Popsoi expressed thanks to his Italian counterpart for the signing of the Agreement on Social Security – an essential step which consolidates the friendship relations between Moldova and Italy.
„The agreement provides significant advantages to the Moldovan citizens who work in Italy, guaranteeing them full access to pensions and other social benefits. We are happy that this initiative will strengthen the social protection of our citizens from Italy,’’ the Moldovan diplomacy head said.
For his part, Minister Antonio Tajani reaffirmed Italy’s commitment for a constructive partnership and willingness to provide expertise for Moldova’s European integration way.
At the same time, Minister Mihai Popsoi expressed gratitude for the openness for the bilateral initiatives and invited his Italian counterpart to visit Moldova, in order to continue the dialogue between the two countries.
Deputy PM, Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi today pays a working visit to Brussels, in order to participate in a meeting with the foreign affairs ministers of the European Union member states, on the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council.
