Moldova signs three agreements with EU on cooperation in customs, fiscal, health sectors
Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita in Brussels today signed agreements in the customs, fiscal and healthcare sectors: the programmes Fiscalis, Customs and EU4Health.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the Customs and Fiscalis programmes were signed by Natalia Gavrilita and European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni. The agreement on cooperation in the customs field will allow Moldova standardizing the legislation and policies in the sector; consolidating the administrative capacities and in the IT field; operating European electronic systems, as well as implementing innovations in the customs policy sector.
The signing of the EU’s Fiscalis Programme will contribute to the improvement of the exchange of fiscal information and strengthening the administrative capacity, will consolidate the IT abilities through the development and operating of electronic systems.
At the ceremony on the signing of the Agreements, Natalia Gavrilita said that the participation in European Union’s programmes was an important part of Moldova’s European integration process.
The third EU-Moldova Agreement, signed by Natalia Gavrilita and European Commissioner for Promoting our European Way of Life, Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, was the EU4health Programme. The programme has more intervention areas, including the consolidation of the health system and its employees, digital transformation and fight against cancer.
Natalia Gavrilita said that, through the signing of this agreement, Moldova would have access to the Programme on positions of equality with the EU member states. ‘’EU4Health will contribute to the consolidation of the national public health system, through the improvement of the degree of preparation for the emergency situations, including through the enhancement of the resilience to sanitary crises. The programme will also help enhance the capacity of preventing diseases, especially cancer and, not in the least, it will facilitate the mobilization of funds for the digitalization of the medical assistance and improvement of the access to quality medical services,’’ the Moldovan PM said.
