Two thousand five hundred new jobs created at wiring factory in central district of Moldova
Chisinau, 30 October /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip participated at inauguration of the auto – wiring factory in the Orhei sub – zone of the Free Economic Zone (ZEL) in Balti today. The new production area, with a total territory exceeding 27 thousand m2, is an investment of €30 million for Japanese company Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze GmbH (SEBN), the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
During the event, the Premier thanked those who provided the necessary assistance in realization of the investment project, mentioning its importance for the development of Moldovan industry, but also for the improvement of the living standards of the population through the creation of new jobs.
"The most important thing is that 2,500 people will be able to work here at home in Moldova and will not be able to go abroad to find a job so that to be able to support their family. This means that 2,500 Moldovan families will be happier," said Pavel Filip.
Also, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers specified that increase of Moldova’s investment attractiveness remains a basic priority of the Government. For that purpose, a number of actions have been taken, such as: reducing the number of permissive acts, reducing the institutions with control functions, Labour Code amendment. In this context, the Prime Minister said that the increase of investments and, respectively, increase in the contributions to the state budget has offered the possibility to increase the pensions, salaries and social investments. "The government which I represent is a pro – business government and wants a lot of social and public investments," said the Prime Minister.
The PM also appreciated the vocational education project promoted by Sumitomo in collaboration with the vocational school in Orhei city, following to contribute to training of specialists for the company.
At their turn, the representatives of Sumitomo company appreciated opening and support of the Government in project realization. They mentioned that Orhei factory is an important component in improving the quality of production and company would further contribute to social and economic development of Moldova.
Currently, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze has about 33,000 employees within 36 locations across 15 countries. The company expanded its activity in Moldova in 2015.
