Former MOLDPRES director says agency most important chapter of his professional, political activity
Chisinau, 20 June /MOLDPRES/ - Writer and publicist Boris Marian, the former director of the MOLDPRES State News Agency during 2001-2003, today congratulated the MOLDPRES State News Agency Public Institution on the 30th anniversary of its foundation. He said that he regarded the period when he had led the national news agency as the most important chapter in his professional and political activity.
Boris Marian noted that it had been quite difficult for him to preserve his personality and creation principles, with which he came from journalism, as the then Communist leadership, which came to power in 2001, ‘’demanded from its subordinates nothing but blind obedience.’’
Publicist Boris Marian, a former political prisoner during the Soviet Union, said that he had been dismissed in 2003 ‘’for the critical spirit’’. ‘’I am happy that I established and maintained warm relations with all employees, so that, even 20 years after leaving, I am not ashamed of looking in their eyes,’’ Boris Marian said.
The MOLDPRES State News Agency Public Institution marks the 30th anniversary of its foundation on 20 June. The Moldpres agency has the task to ensure the production and spread of information, publication and editing of official acts, inform the public opinion of Moldova and from abroad about the state policy and the current activity of Moldova’s public authorities, provide editorial poly-graphic and advertising services, produce and sell photo and video materials.
