Breeding status farm registered in northern Glodeni district of Moldova
Chisinau, 30 December /MOLDPRES/ - The farm for breeding Jersey cattle from the Fundurii Vechi settlement, northern Glodeni district, has received the status of breeding farm. This occurred, after the commission for the attestation of the animal husbandry farms in the breeding category on 29 December had paid a visit to the enterprise, in order to consider the indexes which characterize the race qualities and the animals’ productivity, the production economic activity, the level of the activity of selection and amelioration.
The attestation commission was accompanied by an expert of the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in the Agriculture Sector, Eugen Voinitchi. The expert familiarized with the technology of breeding enforced at the farm and the technological endowments available, in order to decide on the needs of intervention to modernize the farm through accessing World Bank’s support, which will be provided for the development of the animal husbandry sector. The World Bank’s programme will start in the second half of 2023and will be worth 55 million dollars, of which 25 million dollars will be invested in animal husbandry sector.
The breeding category gives the animal farm a higher status than to the production ones and the certificate on the breeding category allows the sale of breeding animals, which can benefit from subsidies from the National Fund of Development of Agriculture and Rural Environment.
