Moldovan head of state has discussion with Romanian PM
Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu greeted Romania’s Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca in Bucharest today. The two officials discussed the cooperation in the sectors of strategic interest, such as energy, infrastructure and transports, the presidential press service has reported.
„I appreciated the signing of the Agreement on the coordinated control at the border crossing point Leuseni-Albita and I voiced hope that it would be soon enforced,’’ the head of state said.
At the same time, Maia Sandu thanked the Romanian government for the quick and unconditional assistance provided to Moldova in the most difficult situations. ‘’Romania delivered us electric energy when we remained without electricity, supplied us with gas, firewood and crude oil and provided us with budgetary support, for us to be able to give compensations to the people with modest incomes for the payment of the energy invoices ,’’ the Moldovan president noted.
Also, President Maia Sandu referred to the support on behalf of Bucharest. ‘’Today, I received assurances that Romania would continue helping us, just as always, and the Romanian cabinet will provide us with support in the process of accession to the European Union. I confirmed to PM Ciuca that the Moldovan government would continue the good dialogue with the Romanian cabinet, as Prime Minister Dorin Recean has already announced his first official visit to Bucharest next week,’’ the head of state stressed.
