Candidate of Action and Solidarity Party for Moldovan president's office announces government reshufflings till end of 2024
Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ - The candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) for the Moldovan president’s office, present head of state Maia Sandu announces changes in the governmental team till the end of the 2024 year, if she is elected as president. Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect at electoral debates held at the Moldova 1 TV station.
Maia Sandu admits that there were also protests votes in the first round of the elections. She notes that a problem represents the votes bought and not the ones given as a token of protest. At the same time, the current president of Moldova says that where are problems of integrity, the state’s institutions must act.
„Certainly, there were protest votes and we know the reasons for this protest vote. The problem represents the purchased votes, in no case the protest vote. The democracy is both about support and protest vote. And yes, we committed more mistakes, even if our intentions were good. There were more crises and there were people who found their way about better and people who found their way about less good for various reasons. We have never limited and I did not think to limit one or another institution, when it comes to integrity. They are free also at present to go and put handcuffs to or another, if there are such reasons,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The current head of state promised reshufflings in the governmental team, if she is elected president.
„Yes, I believe that we need to make changes in the governmental team. I heard the citizens, I discussed in more settlements; I heard the pretensions and especially in what sectors they expect thinks done better,’’ the candidate for the Moldovan president’s office said.
Only Maia Sandu came to the stage of debates at the Moldova 1 public TV station. Moderator Radu Osipov informed that the Socialists’ candidate, Alexandr Stoianoglo, had not accepted the invitation.
In the first round of the presidential elections from 20 October, the PAS candidate, Maia Sandu, picked up 42.49 per cent of the votes. As many as 656,852 electors voted for the current Moldovan president. The candidate of the Party of Socialists, Alexandr Stoianoglo, grabbed 25.95 per cent of the ballots and had 401,215 votes.
The runoff election will take place on 3 November.
