„Moldova, you are a winner. Today, dear Moldovans, you gave a lesson of democracy worth being written in the textbooks of history. Today, you saved Moldova. In your choice for a worthy future, nobody has lost. The freedom, truth and justice have won. Moldova managed to shows its power through the vote of each of us. We proved that united we manage to defeat those who wanted to subdue us.
Dear Moldovans, I thank each of you individually for having gone to vote, no matter your option. This means that you bear the love for the country in your souls. I thank all Moldovans from villages and cities, from small settlements and large settlements. Today, you showed that we are Moldova, with good and bad things, with ethnic groups which take care of them, with many troubles, with tumultuous stories, but above all this, you showed that Moldova is a family – a thing which all of us needed, in order to become better in what we do – from the governance act up to the last seed which we put in our soil.
Diaspora, you are surprising! Our Diaspora today gave us another lesson from which each of us must learns lessons. Our Moldovans who are far away showed us that Moldova beats in their chests as strongly and in our chests, the ones at home.
Chisinau proved an extraordinary mobilization; the young people impressed with a historical mobilization at the vote. In all, more than 1,690,000 people went to vote. I understand that this was a vote for changes, changes expected in the society, but I want you to know that I have heard all voices, including the ones of criticism and I thank you that we have overcome the troubles, discontents, so that we protect our country.
Moldova has been under an unprecedented attack in the history of Europe. Dirty money, illegal purchasing of votes, involvement in the electoral processes of hostile forces from abroad and of crime rings, lies, inducing of hatred and fear in our society. Our people united and the freedom and the citizens won.
I appreciate the call to unity on behalf of counter-candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo. We will continue developing Moldova in peace and democracy. Together with all Moldovans and for all Moldovans.
Moldova, be proud of you! And dear Moldovans, step forward with pride wherever you will be tomorrow morning! You are the definition of freedom and kindness!
