American experts carried out analysis on ensuring security in Chisinau International Airport
Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- A working visit by experts of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection took place in Chisinau International Airport. They carried out an analysis of ensuring airport and aeronautical security.
The visit is an activity carried out at the request of the Border Police aimed at obtaining the expertise of the American partners in improving the plan of measures on strengthening security in the Airport.
For two days, the experts jointly with the representatives of the specialized structures of the Border Police discussed the security protocols and work procedures applied at the Chisinau Airport. A presentation was made of the activity of the border police, duties and responsibilities at the security control line and control of travel documents, maintaining the regime, including the level of cooperation in the Airport with other competent authorities.
Following the analysis, the management of the Border Police and the U.S. experts held a review meeting to set the preliminary conclusions of the evaluation process.
The head of the Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, thanked the American experts, who responded to the request and are willing to support the institution in strengthening the security capabilities of the Chisinau International Airport. "The conclusions and recommendations presented will allow us to improve the action plan developed in order to strengthen the security management capabilities in the Airport. Surely this exercise, started following the tragic incident of June 30, requires us to be demanding of ourselves, to ensure that in the future there will be no more such cases. For us, it matters a lot that we are not alone and that we have reliable partners who will be by our side and support us", said Rosian Vasiloi.
A border policeman and an airport security employee died on June 30 at the Chisinau International Airport, after being shot by a foreign citizen, who was not allowed to enter the country. The aggressor was injured during the arrest, and a few days later he died in the hospital.
